10 to 20 yard
1 to 3 days on active jobs
Placed near the tear-off zone
Shingles are heavy and deceptive. A tear-off that looks like a small pile weighs more than a container of furniture, which is why roofing jobs go in smaller containers than people expect. A 10 or 15 yard is normally the right call even on a decent-sized house.
Placement matters as much as size on a roofing job. Tell us which slope you’re working and we’ll set the container where your crew can drop into it instead of carrying loads across the yard.
Four steps, no surprises
Renting a dumpster shouldn’t take a week of phone calls. Here’s the whole process, start to finish.
Got questions about sizing, timing, or what’s allowed in the dumpster? Here are the ones we hear the most — call us if yours isn’t covered.
A single room cleanout usually fits in a 10 yard. A full house cleanout or a big remodel is normally a 20 or 30 yard. Roofing tear-offs are heavy, so they're usually a 10 or 15 yard even when the pile looks small. If you're between sizes, call and describe the job.
Standard rentals run about a week. If your project runs long, let us know and we'll work out extra days.
Plan on roughly 60 feet of straight clearance for the truck plus the dumpster, and about 23 feet of overhead room. A driveway or level spot on the property usually works fine.
It's not common, but the weight is real. Plywood under the wheels and rails is cheap insurance, and we can talk through placement before delivery.
No paint, oil, chemicals, batteries, tires, propane tanks, appliances with refrigerant, or anything flammable. If you're not sure about something, ask before you toss it in.
